This month's featured zone is the Marshes of Madness. If you missed the past zone features, be sure to check them out in the Zone Overviews section of the website.

The Mourkain were a culture steeped in death and decay, destined for an unsavory end from the moment that their leader Kadon first discovered the corpse of King Alcadizzar of Khemri along the banks of the Blind River.  Atop his head, the fallen king still wore the sorcerous Crown of Nagash.  Drawn by the power that emanated from the crown, Kadon took it and placed it upon his own head.  Almost immediately, the corrupting influence of the crown effected a change in the young Shaman.  Kadon became obsessed with death and the magic of Necromancy.  He commanded his people to build a magnificent tomb for Alcadizzar and around that tomb, their settlement evolved into a city that came to be called Mourkain.  As the years passed, the city grew into an empire which, at its height, stretched from the Marshes of Madness all the way to the Black Gulf.

"It was on the day of the 'red eclipse' that the great Chaos warhost emerged from the Umbra Chaotica, marching swiftly southward.  The weary warriors of Kislev were no match for the wave of destruction that washed over them."

"The number one reason I'm excited about Warhammer is that it's a fantastic world. The point of it all is to go out and be part of this tumultuous, dramatic world full of danger and intrigue. The real "story" is the one that the players are going to tell - there aren't any predetermined conclusions"

"I can often be found stalking the halls like the Grim Reaper, except instead of a Scythe I wield a stack of bug and gameplay issues."
