Chris Ondrus, Deputy Art Director
What are your responsibilities as the Deputy Art Director?
As a Deputy Art Director, my role is to be the Art Director's right hand man. I primarily assist with managing the art staff to ensure schedules are met and maintained. Other duties include developing core systems for integrating art assets, quality control, and outsourcing activities.

Currently I am working with the team on refining and testing the Combat Ability System. It's a pretty big undertaking and we will continue to refine and test until we get it right. I think the player base will be very pleased with what we have in store for them. In addition, we are setting up the foundation for what our new Spell Effect System will be. The Effects Team is doing some "kick butt" effects.

What is your background? How long have you been with Mythic? What other game titles have you worked on in the past?
I went to the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I studied Animation and Multi-media. I have 10 years experience in the gaming industry and worked for Bethesda Softworks and Leaping Lizard Software before joining the Mythic Entertainment team. I have been the Lead Animator for Mythic Entertainment for the past five years. Some of the games I have worked on include: Daggerfall, Skynet, Redguard, Morrowind, Monopoly Casino, Magic the Gathering, and Dark Age of Camelot as well as its expansions.

What was your "welcome to the game industry" moment when it hit you that you were really making games for a living?
When people ask me what I do for a living, I reply by saying, "I make games for a living." No matter whether I'm talking to a neighbor, my dentist or a complete stranger, the reply is always the same, "That must be the coolest job! You mean you get paid to play and make games?" That's when it hits me that I do have a cool job and I realize how lucky I am to work in this industry, particularly for such a great company like Mythic Entertainment.

What are you listening to right now?
Howard Stern on Sirius Radio!

Is there a recent movie you've seen or book/comic you read that you'd recommend to others?
Secrets of a Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Eker.
