As announced in the last Community Update we are working on version 1.4.3, which is still scheduled to go live in June. We expect to bring the version to the test server ‘soon’ (which in this case translates to ‘within the next two weeks’) to give you a chance to look at the changes, including a new accessory set.
One of the main things introduce with the next patch is the upcoming event ‘Sigmar Tide’. As it will not be available on PTS – nobody wants a spoiler – we want to use this update to give you a bit more information.
Sigmar Tide is the time of the year when the Empire takes pause to celebrate the day Sigmar – the founder of the Empire and first emperor – became a god. Usually this is done by killing the ones tainted by Chaos, casting out the witches and burning the heretics. It is also the time to renew the bond with the dwarfs honoring the alliance Sigmar created. Altars of Sigmar are erected all over the world to be consecrate with the skulls of felled enemies.
In the meantime the forces of Destruction seek to undermine the spirit of the order by ruining their festivity. Collecting skulls, desecrating altars, spreading corruption and bashing dwarfs is just the thing to do.
The event ‘Sigmar Tide’ will introduce a new scenario to WAR. The College of Corruption is the attempt of the Chaos to infiltrate the Empire and corrupt it from within. Inside players fight over the control of the college while the Aqshy Activators can be used to manifest Aspects of Fire – a being of pure fire which is temporarily controlled by the player with four special abilities.
The College of Corruption scenario will be open to players of all tiers for the duration of the event, and NPCs will give the players quests to complete while in the scenario.
Additionally to the College of Corruption players can seek out the Altars of Sigmar in open RvR and gain a blessing to improve their offense (by sacrificing a bit of their defense) if they possess a Skull of the Fallen.
An event page in the Tome of Knowledge will show you the different challenges and helps you too keep track of your achievements during the event. Apart from the title for those characters who successfully complete the event, there are three influence rewards to gain:
- Basic: The Mark of the Hammer – 3-day buff: a 10% bonus to healing, damage, Renown, and XP
- Advanced: Ceremonial Hammer – Shoulder-mounted trophy
- Elite: Token of Sigmar – Carrier-based stat bonuses. Variable, by level bracket and carrier
Sigmar Tide will launch on June 21st and last two weeks. We are looking forward to getting your feedback.
Talking about feedback, make sure to check out the latest Dev discussion on the forum.
And last not least, this weekend - which is the Memorial Day weekend in the US - we have activated a 50% bonus on RP and XP starting today and running until Tuesday, 05/31.
See you on the battlefields!
